Delta’s Unaccompanied Minor Program

Does your child need to fly somewhere alone on a Delta flight?  Is the kid visiting her grandparents over summer vacation?  Are you unsure about the types of services that the airline company can provide to your kid?  Then relax because I will now fill you in on some of the services that the Delta airline currently provides to the minors who are traveling alone.

If your child is under the age of five, then you are not going to be able to send her to Grandma’s house alone.  Delta won’t allow for children to travel alone until they are at least five years of age.  If your kid is anywhere from the ages of five to fourteen, she can fly alone, so long as she fly under the airline’s Unaccompanied Minor Program.

Having your child fly under Delta’s Unaccompanied Minor Program will cost you $100 each way.  However, it is worth it for the safety of your child.  From the moment you leave the airport until the moment the designated adult comes to pick up your child, she will always be accompanied by a Delta employee.  Therefore, you will not have to worry about your child getting lost at the airport, or worse, get kidnapped by someone with bad intentions.

If your child is older than 14, she won’t be required to utilize the Unaccompanied Minor Program.  However, if you feel that she is not quite ready to fully travel alone, then it might not be all that bad of an idea for her to fly under the Unaccompanied Minor Program anyway.

Avoiding Travel with a Mass of College Students

Spring is in the air, and do you know what that means? It means college students are let loose to go enjoy spring break.  While that is great news for the college students, it might not be the greatest of news for the others who are thinking about traveling during the springtime.

What is the downside to flying with college students who are on spring break?  If you happen to end up on a flight with a big group of college students it can get crowded, noisy, and perhaps even rowdy.  Also, if you are taking your little ones on a family vacation, the last thing you probably want is for your kids to see the not-always-so-appropriate behavior of the young college crowd.

So how do you take your family vacation without bumping into a whole mass of college students?  You can try to stay far away from the majority of the college students by traveling either first class or business class.  Many college students buy spring break package tours that have them sitting in the economy seats.  So flying first class or business class will help prevent you from having to fight over the armrest with a young college student.

Upgrading your plane ticket not a feasible option?  How about flying midweek?  Most college students travel to their spring break destination either on or close to the weekends.  So traveling midweek will lessen your chances of being surrounded by a large group of college students on break.

Can’t fly midweek?  Then try flying either really early in the morning or late at night.  In general, those are much quieter flight times.

Save with Brita Bottle in Aqua

I drink a lot of water every day.  It is my beverage of choice, and I constantly sip it throughout the day.  That can be a problem for me whenever I have to fly out somewhere.  The cost of buying bottle after bottle of water at the airport can really add up.  That is especially true whenever I have to make two or three different connection flights, and the layover time in between each flight is extremely long.

At home, I could never drink water straight out of the tap.  I just cannot stand the taste of the chlorine and everything else that is in it.  That is why I use a filter to purify my water first.  It helps to make the water drinkable for me, and it costs a lot less than buying bottled water.

Recently, I have started seeing the Brita Bottle in Aqua at the stores.  I think they are a wonderful idea, especially for anyone who has the need to travel.  The bottle can be carried into the airport.  If the bottle is empty while going through security, it should have no problem going through.  Once passed the security gate, the Brita Bottle Aqua can be filled up with tap water.  The filtered water bottle will then work its magic, and drinking water will be readily available without having to pay for overpriced water bottles at the airport.  In the end, the usage of the filtered Brita Bottle in Aqua can help to reduce the overall cost of traveling.

Airline Fares Rise Due to Gas Prices

If you have been to the gas pump lately, then you already know about the hike in price for gas.  Upon seeing that, you probably have your suspicions about how that is going to cause everything else to get pricier as well.  Well, if you had thought that, then you were right.

Right now, buying an airplane ticket is going to be more expensive by about $5 for each boarding ticket.  Considering the fact that most trips are round trips, you are actually going to need to spend $10 more for every trip that you make.  However, the price increase is not likely to stop there.  Experts are speculating that you will see more rises in airline fares in the months to come.

Airlines have two major costs that they must pay for.  That is they need to pay for their airline staff and they must pay for fuel for their jet engines.  Now that gas prices are going up, it is costing them more to take you to your business and travel destinations.  Therefore, as a business, they must find ways to get some of that money back.  As usual, the answer is to make plane passengers pay more.

So does that mean you are destined to pay more for your travels?  No, not if you are smart about shopping for discounts and sales.  With the hike in prices, not as many people will be willing to pay for the tickets.  When there are too many unsold tickets, the airlines will have to promote specials on their airfares.

If you are anything like the majority of the people in the world, then chances are that it is not every day that you go out to buy an airline ticket.  For that reason, it can be such a headache to actually go about buying a plane ticket whenever the need to do so occurs.  However, if you would just take some time to learn some of the tricks for scoring airline tickets, you’ll be a lot more adept at it.

When it comes to purchasing airline tickets, the biggest concern tends to be the extravagant prices on them.  So it’s understandable if you want nothing more than to save some bucks when buying your plane ticket.  To ensure that you’re getting your airline ticket at the absolute best price, a little shopping around is going to be essential.  Check every single one of the websites that sell airline tickets.

Don’t have the time to shop around for cheap airline tickets?  Try some of these other tips for saving money on flights.  Get a travel agent to help you travel for cheap.  Opt for flights that do not require you to change up airlines in between.  Also, if you’re flexible with your travel plans, go ahead and wait until the very last second to book your flight.  It can very often lead to humongous savings on your airplane boarding pass.

Not able to take the risk of not having an airline ticket for a specified date?  Book the flight a month in advance or more.  It will get you out of having to pay the top price.

How to Save Money on Your Flight to Hawaii

A vacation in Hawaii sounds very appealing to just about anyone.  However, the cost of airfare to Hawaii is more than a little off-putting to most.  A round trip airplane ticket to Hawaii from the mainland of the United States can easily cost upwards of $1000 per person.  That is definitely more than just a little spending money for the majority of the population in the United States.  Therefore, it becomes important for most of the people interested in traveling to Hawaii to fly there when it is the cheapest to do so.

A couple of factors can affect the cost of an airline ticket to Hawaii.  For instance, there is the competition from the other airlines.  Then there is also the number of people wanting to travel to Hawaii during the specified time.

Generally speaking, the more airlines that there are competing for your business, the cheaper the tickets are going to be.  So if the airport nearest to your house only has one airline servicing it, then it is going to be difficult for you to get a good price.  If that is the case with your local airport, I would suggest that you fly to Hawaii from an airport with more competing airlines.

Hawaii is a nice place to visit all year long.  However, some months get more tourists than others.  If you are hoping to save money, you cannot go to Hawaii when it is most popular to do so.  That means you should avoid traveling to Hawaii during the peak of summer.

If you are looking to board a luxurious airline flight, then consider hopping on one that belongs to Singapore Airlines.  Ideally, you should book a ticket for one of the suites.  The suites take comfort while flying to a whole new level.

Singapore Airlines suites will give you your own little haven to relax in.  The blinds on the windows and the sliding doors help to give you as much privacy as you wish to have for your own individual cabin.  The armchairs that you get to sit in are large in size, and they are actually stitched by hand.

On most other luxury airlines, the bed is really just a chair that has been adjusted to a horizontal position.  That is not true of the suites on Singapore Airlines.  They actually give you a standalone bed that comes equipped with plush pillows and fine linen.  So you can easily get some restful sleep during your time on the flight.

Need more help getting yourself to fall asleep?  How about putting on a sleeper suit?  The airline will be happy to provide you with one.

Don’t feel like sleeping during your flight?  Amuse yourself with some of the entertainment options available in the suites of Singapore Airlines.  Your individual cabin comes equipped with an LCD TV that is 23 inches wide, and some of the best headphones from Bose.  You can watch movies from countries all over the world, or you can enjoy some television programs.  Some other entertainment options include playing 3D games and listening to music.

"When flying first class with Swiss International Airline, you can realistically expect to be treated like nothing less than first class."

These days, flying on an airplane can feel somewhat like a chore.  The space is cramped.  There is no way for you to really stretch out your legs, and to top it all of, your neighbor likes to hog the armrest.

Believe it or not, enjoying the airplane ride is still a true possibility.  That is if you book yourself a seat on one of the top luxurious airline’s flight.  The Swiss International Airline proudly proclaims their flights to be a cut above the rest, and it is easy to see why.

When flying first class with Swiss International Airline, you can realistically expect to be treated like nothing less than first class.  The flight attendants onboard the flights are trained to cater to your every need without ever being annoyingly obtrusive.

Onboard one of the Swiss International Airline flights, not only will you have room to stretch your legs, but you will actually have enough room to stretch out up to the full length of your entire body.  That is possible thanks to the fact that all of the seats in the first class area are capable of reclining to a fully horizontal bed.  Furthermore, the firmness of the seats can be easily adjusted with just the press of a button.

Typically, airplane foods are nothing to write home about.  However, after sampling the gourmet food on the flights of Swiss International Airline, you might just be tempted into sending home a letter—or at least a text message—about your awesome multi-course meal.  People back home are going to be so jealous!
